City Secretary
The City Secretary records and maintains custody of all official city documents including ordinances, resolutions, contracts, minutes and agendas of public meetings, and is responsible for records retention and safekeeping.

Code Compliance
The Code Compliance Department promotes and protects the health, safety, and general welfare of the residents, businesses, and visitors of the city. The Code Compliance Department has four divisions: General Code Compliance, Consumer Health Services, Rental Registration Program, and Animal Control.

Development Services
Development Services provides orderly growth, development, and re-development by enforcing adopted codes and ordinances. Core goals include focusing on new commercial and residential development that will strengthen the city’s existing dynamic urban character of diverse land uses. Elimination of incompatible uses will stabilize area property values. The department includes Building & Inspection Services, Civil Engineering, and Planning & Zoning.

Emergency Management
The City of Stafford DEM shall continue to develop and maintain a leading edge, all-hazards emergency management and homeland security program that encompasses all organizations in the public and private sectors. This will include citizens; government agencies at the city, county, regional, state, and federal levels; school boards; businesses (small and corporate), faith-based; and volunteer agencies.

Finance
The Finance Department prepares all budgets and manages the investment of City funds and municipal bonds; maintains reports of all sales tax revenues, franchise tax revenues and debt service schedules; oversees the risk management and employee policies; and researches and prepares all financial and budget reports for the Mayor, City Council and Department Heads.

Fire Department
The Stafford Fire Department is a combination department manned by a team of 87 dedicated firefighters led by Fire Chief Larry DiCamillo. The department holds a superior “Class 1” ISO insurance rating, held by less than 1% of all Fire Departments nationally. A Class 1 rating is only achieved by committing to the highest standards of protection for the community and our firefighters. The department responds to an average of 200-300 incidents per month and provides staffed fire companies around-the-clock 24-hours a day, 7-days-a-week to protect the lives and property of area residents and businesses.

Municipal Court
The mission of Stafford Municipal Court is to be impartial and timely in the disposition of all cases and to serve the public in a courteous and efficient manner.

Planning & Zoning
The Planning and Zoning Commission reviews all submitted plats, site plans, and zoning cases for ordinance compliance and to ensure they meet all technical requirements. The Commission is also responsible for ensuring that development and redevelopment comply with all approved plans such as the City Comprehensive Plan and the Major Thoroughfare Plan.

Police Department
The mission of the Stafford Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in our community by working cooperatively with the public and within the framework of the United States Constitution to enforce laws, preserve the peace and provide for a safe environment for all members of our community.

Public Works
The City of Stafford is 7 square miles, with a population of 18,285. The City has over 50 miles of paved streets and drainage systems and approximately 200 pieces of equipment. The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the streets, drainage, parks, buildings, vehicles, landscaped and non-landscaped rights-of-way, and properties owned by the City of Stafford and the Stafford Municipal School District. The rights-of-way typically encompass the area from sidewalk to sidewalk, including the roadway.

Recreation Department
The City's Recreation Department oversees the City pool and the Stafford Civic Center. In addition, the department regularly assists with events and operations at the Stafford Centre.

Stafford METV
S-METV is the Municipal Education and Government Access channel for the City of Stafford. Programming includes City meetings, public meetings, special community events, news conferences, and Stafford weekly news. The channel broadcasts from the Scarcella Building at Houston Community College, Southwest Campus 24/7 on this website; and is available to Comcast cable subscribers on Channel 16 and AT&T U-verse on Channel 99.
