You will need to submit the following when filing for a place on the City of Stafford’s Election Ballot (this is not an exhaustive list):
Form CTA – Appointment of a Campaign Treasurer by a Candidate (Texas Ethics Commission).
Form 2-21 - Application for Place on Ballot (Texas Secretary of State).
Form CFCP – Fair Campaign Practices Act (Texas Ethics Commission).
Voter Registration Certificate – if you cannot locate this certificate, the City Secretary will verify it with the Elections Office.
It is the candidate’s responsibility to become familiar with the law applicable to campaigns for office. While the candidates may certainly expect the City Secretary’s Office to be able to advise them when reports are due, the City secretary’s Office is limited to serving as a notary, accepting and filing the various applications, affidavits, and statements by noting the date and time of the filing.
The period to apply for a place on the ballot for May 7, 2022, General Officer's Election is: Wednesday, January 19, 2022, beginning at 8 am through to and including Friday, February 18, 2022, by 5 pm.
