Lizbet Rojas is a 7th grader who is doing well with her training and races, and as you will learn cross country running is not the only sport she does on her feet.

Coach Jerel Myers is motivating the SMSD Middle School Cross Country team to start their days bright and early. Get to know Coach Myers a little more by visiting  

One of the bright spots on the Stafford Middle School Cross Country team is 8th grader Fernando Correa. Conditioning is what originally propelled Fernando into running but now he likes to compete during the two-mile race.

A current shining star on the high school Cross Country team is Mackenzie Catalon. In addition to Cross Country she also is a member of the track and field team. As you will see one of her hobbies has family ties.

Coach Angel Maldonado is excited about the Cross Country team’s chances at making to regionals. He spoke with us about some of the runners who are leading the way.

Jose Chaman has been training hard for this season’s Cross Country team. As you will see, one of his interests keeps him near a bright light.

The Spartan tennis team won the district champion for the third year in a row and while along the way beating a team the Spartans had never beaten before. Coach Tim Wood can now use the term three-peat.

Angel Martinez’s bother introduced him to tennis and he has come to love it. Like his teammate Delpha, he won rookie of the year in the fall of 2021. It seems as if Angel has wings on the court at times.

Delpha Roy was introduced to tennis at the age of seven. As a Freshman, he won rookie of the year for the Spring season. Now, as a sophomore on the varsity team, he is looking to ace his competition.
