I would like to take a moment to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year on behalf of myself, City Council and the entire City Team. I sincerely hope each of you enjoy spending time with family and friends remembering and cherishing the meaning of Christmas.
LIFE, HOPE, JOY AND PEACE! As this year comes to an end, we should all take a step back and reflect on these words and what they truly mean to each of us. Being the eternal optimist, I am personally looking forward to the future as the best is yet to come for our City and its citizens.
December marks one year since I was fortunate enough to be elected as your mayor. We have come a long way in the past 12 months both as individuals and as a community.
Our financial base has been reinforced, numerous new projects are being built and there are plans for even more future development on the horizon.
New faces are being added to the Police, Fire and other City departments.
We will continue to monitor and evaluate opportunities that come our way and keep improving our city operations. Once again, I want to recognize the great employees we have at the City of Stafford. They are the people who perform all the needed tasks that makes Stafford the great City it is.
Very Best Wishes for a wonderful Holiday Season,
Mayor Cecil Willis

Stafford Economic Development Corporation News

|
Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad and Happy Kwanzaa! I’m happy to report a very productive year in the economic development of the city. The Grid is moving forward, we welcomed a Costco and the 7-Eleven is just about finished. I'm excited to report that Stafford will soon have a Kelsey Seybold Clinic.
On Highway 90 the two outstanding developments are moving forward and hopefully within the next 4 to 6 months they will be completed. Developers continue to be interested in buying parcels of land on our main for affairs, in which I’m working with very closely.
We are currently prospering even though the pandemic, in which our revenues have gone up. But, we still have to strive for more revenue to achieve the needs and the quality of life for the City of Stafford. With that being said I look forward for the new year. I'm looking forward to completing those projects that we have pending as well as moving forward on the developments on Kirkwood a commercial zone.
Another thing to look forward is continuing to complete the Weatherford complex. An additional project that we are working on is finishing is the extension of Trinity for rear circulation of The Grid.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Wen Guerra, SEDC President
