Message from the Mayor

Wow, how this year has flown by. As we approach these holiday months, I hope everyone can enjoy time with your family and friends.

The City and SMSD are moving forward and have implemented their new budgets. Included in the city budget is some new equipment, new IT programs and hardware, as well as additional employees and increased salaries. The salary adjustments for our employees were well deserved.

I believe all elements of the budget will pay favorable results for the city as we move forward.

Stafford’s economy seems to be holding up, which is a good sign for the future. However, we will stay vigilant and continually monitor the results and progress.

Please note that we will have our Santa's Village at the Stafford Centre on November 29th as well as our annual New Year’s Eve event. I look forward to seeing you all there!

Best,
Mayor Cecil Willis

Stafford Economic Development Corporation News

My fellow Stafford Citizens the grid continues to develop. They have broken ground on site for future restaurants. We can't announce who yet, but there's a signature store coming in!
  • The Chevron station on Highway 90 has gas pumps installed, it’s a matter of time before the business really starts moving forward and opening.
  • The 7-Eleven also has its gas pumps installed and construction continues to move forward.
  • The Lotus seafood restaurant is doing fabulous!
  • Murphy’s Deli on FM 1092 has changed it’s name to Gus Deli.

Remember to continue supporting local businesses and we are looking forward for developments to continue to grow in 2024.

Best Regards,
Wen Guerra, SEDC President
