Message from the Mayor

Now that we have settled into a new year and are looking forward to warmer and sunnier days, let us reflect on where we started.

2+ years ago when we started our journey together, the City of Stafford, its community, and the City Staff have joined hands and continue to move Stafford forward.

The Stafford Municipal School District is excelling and continuing to accomplish great things, not only in extracurricular activities, but most importantly, academically. The new STEM Magnet Academy received an "A" rating from the State in its first year.

The annual city audit has been completed. The City of Stafford received an unmodified or "clean" opinion, which is the highest level that can be achieved. I am pleased to announce that the fund balance for the second consecutive year continues to climb after the new guidelines and procedures were implemented. As you know, the fund balance is critical for our financial stability and credit rating.

New businesses continue to open along 90A and in The Grid. Stay tuned for even more to come, as we put a fresh new face on Stafford's economy.

Let me say, none of this would have been possible without the effort put forth by the City Staff, and the community as a whole. That is why I can say with pride, in Stafford, "WE ARE ONE"!

Best,
Mayor Cecil Willis
