City of Stafford Newsletter March 2024|
My fellow Staffordians, As we all know, our City is very unique and I am very proud of it. We, the Council members and the employees, all together have helped contribute to the history of our great City. You have chosen the elected officials to make our City better and I am honored to have been elected Mayor 9 months ago. As your Mayor, I am continually inspired by the resilience and strength that defines our great community.
There are also times when we have to make difficult decisions, which comes with the territory. In every challenge we face, we have an opportunity to learn, grow, and emerge even stronger than before. I appreciate all the employees at the City of Stafford and their service to our City. They continue to give their best efforts day in and day out. As the upcoming election approaches, I encourage you all to exercise your right to have your voice heard by voting. Every vote matters. It is your voice, your opportunity to have a say in the decisions that impact our community.
I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the residents, businesses, and community organizations that have contributed to the positive growth and development of our City. Your hard work, dedication, and spirit of collaboration are what make our City truly special. As we look ahead to the future, I am confident that our City will continue to thrive and prosper.
Together, we will build on our successes, address challenges, and create an even brighter and more inclusive future for everyone. Thank you for being part of our City's journey and for your continued support. Let us all stand together and make our City better.

The 2024 General Election will be held on May 4th, 2024.
The Stafford City Council Positions up for election are:- Councilmember Position #1
- Councilmember Position #2
SMSD Board of Trustee positions up for election:- Trustee Position #1
- Trustee Position #2
A Candidates Forum will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 6:30 pm in the Scarcella Administration building.

The City of Stafford held its Annual Town Meeting on Wednesday, January 24th, at the Stafford Civic Center. Mayor Mathew delivered the State of the City Address, outlined the goals for the City in 2024, and spoke on the accomplishments of the City's various departments in 2023.

Post Office named after Scarcella | |
On Friday, December 15, 2023, the U.S. Post Office in Stafford was named in honor of the late Mayor Leonard Scarcella. President Biden signed into law Congressman Al Green’s bill H.R. 5865 on December 27, 2022, to designate the U.S. post office in Stafford, TX, after Scarcella. | |

Hello Stafford,
I'm happy to report that Bombshells is having a lot of success. They have had a massive turnout so far and I am confident they will continue to bring in major numbers.
The Grid continues to grow with the addition of two new businesses, Tiff's Treats and Snooze, an A.M. Eatery. The luxury apartments also continue their progress, with the goal of having some of them occupied by summer.
The City of Stafford is also still waiting for more information on the possibility of getting a Super Target in The Grid that will have a grocery store inside the building.

The Stafford STEM Magnet Academy was recently named the 3rd best Elementary School in the Greater Houston area by Children at Risk, a local education nonprofit.
