Lieutenant Ryan Ward

Lieutenant Ward has served with the Stafford Police Department for nearly 19 years. Throughout his tenure, he has worked as both an officer and supervisor on every shift within the Patrol Division, providing him with extensive experience in frontline operations and shift supervision.

In addition to patrol responsibilities, Lieutenant Ward has supervised both the School Resource Officer (SRO) and Traffic Units. His broad operational background reflects a strong commitment to officer safety, training, and professional development.

Lieutenant Ward holds a Master Peace Officer Certification through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). He has been an Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response (ALERRT) instructor since 2012 and is also a certified Citizens Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) instructor. He has served on the department’s Firearms Instruction Team since 2013 and was appointed Rangemaster in 2023.

Lieutenant Ward is currently assigned to the Office of Professional Standards, where he oversees training, recruiting, accreditation, and Internal Affairs. In this role, he plays a key part in maintaining departmental integrity, professionalism, and compliance with best practices and accreditation standards.
