- Code Compliance
The Code Compliance Department promotes and protects the health, safety, and general welfare of the residents, businesses, and visitors of the city. The Code Compliance Department has four divisions: General Code Compliance, Consumer Health Services, Rental Registration Program, and Animal Control.
The Animal Control division provides humane education to the public, promoting responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of all animals through enforcement of city ordinances and state laws.

Consumer Health Services
Food Permits are necessary to protect the public health by establishing and enforcing requirements for food service operations including caterers working within the city limits. The City’s Health Inspector works in collaboration with the community to promote the health and safety of all Food Establishments and vendors.

General Code Compliance
The General Code Compliance's mission is to maintain Stafford’s status as a clean, livable city by ensuring properties comply with rules set by City Council.
Residential Rental Registration Program
April 4, 2018, Stafford City Council approved the Single Family Rental Registration Program. The intent of this program is to foster clean and safe rental properties (single-family rental homes) that will enhance the health, safety and quality of life for all residents of the City of Stafford.
