The Patrol Division of the Stafford Police Department is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of law enforcement services and serves as the primary point of contact between the department and the public. As the most visible division within the department, patrol personnel are dedicated to protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Stafford while working collaboratively to maintain a safe community.

The division is staffed by a Captain, a Day Shift Lieutenant, a Night Shift Lieutenant, four Sergeants, four Senior Police Officers, and twenty-seven Patrol Officers. Patrol personnel provide 24-hour coverage and are tasked with responding to calls for service, conducting proactive patrols, enforcing traffic and criminal laws, and engaging with the community to enhance public safety. The division also plays a critical role in crime prevention, initial investigations, and emergency response.

Department members regularly participate in advanced training and hold certifications in a variety of specialized fields that enhance operational readiness and response capabilities. These specialized areas include Field Training Officer, Crash Investigation, Bicycle Patrol, Crisis Intervention, Firearms Instruction, Hostage Negotiation, and SWAT.

Through effective supervision, proactive policing strategies, continuous training, and strong community partnerships, the Operations Division remains committed to maintaining public safety, supporting departmental initiatives, and providing professional, responsive service to the residents and businesses of the City of Stafford.
