The City of Stafford holds the unique distinction of being the largest city in Texas to abolish city property taxes. This includes both commercial and residential properties. In addition to a lack of city property taxes, the State of Texas has no state property taxes. This combination means more money back into the pockets of your business and employees.

Sales Tax


The state sales tax rate in Texas is 6.25% with the City of Stafford assessing an additional 2%. Of that 2%, 1.5% is directed to the City and 0.5% is directed to the SEDC. This local sales tax is the primary revenue generator for the City of Stafford. At the state level, sales and use taxes account for over 50% of state revenue. 


Income Tax


The state of Texas has no personal income tax.
